The Noise of the Birds in the Trees
This series came from a period of time spent drawing and recording the landscape, noticing all the changes taking place from March to June.
Whenever I spent time drawing outside I am reminded how mindful and relaxing it is. The only noise I could hear was the sound of the birds in the trees, similar to the sounds you hear around my village of the children in the school playground.
Lots of collage builds the composition, with rich, thick paint, little details are drawn or scraped into the paint.
Acrylic and mixed media on plywood panel. Sealed and finished with a UV varnish. The wooden frame is painted in Farrow and Ball, Pointing.
Framed size is 32.5 x 28.5cm
