The Ground Beneath my Feet
I know its important to look up but often it is what catches my eye on the ground that interests me.
On the coastal path, the leaves, stones, branches that have been trodden on or worn down. The hardy but delicate wildflowers that exist in the harshest places. The twisting branches of woody shrubs.
This painting used to be called, Looking Down and Around, however I didn’t feel it told it’s story well enough. The Ground Beneath my Feet is more evocative and reflects my belief in the grounding and uplifting power of nature.
Acrylic and mixed media on cradled wooden panel. Sealed and finished with a protective UV varnish. The wooden frame is painted in Farrow and Ball, Pointing.
