The Noise of the Birds in the Trees £220

This is one of a series of 5 paintings that all emerged from time spent in one particular set of fields near me. Looking, drawing; noticing what particularly sparked my interest and honing in on that. I used collage to define the composition, wanting to keep a more pared back approach but with a sense of a living, breathing landscape. Drawing in the landscape can be a very quiet, meditative time, the chattering of the birds in the trees reminded me of the noise of the children in the playground in my village.

32.5cm x 28.5cm, acrylic and mixed media on plywood panel, wooden frame painted in Farrow and Ball Pointing.
